Start at the FOB and Prepare Your Kit

Use the Forward Operating Base as your main preparation area. Set up a primary weapon, ammunition, medical equipment, and other useful gear before traveling into hostile territory.

Keep your first loadout simple. A controllable rifle with a clear optic is more useful than an expensive setup you are not comfortable handling.

Learn BRM5 Weapon Handling

Practice aiming, recoil control, fire-mode selection, reloading, leaning, and shooting from cover before taking difficult fights. BRM5 rewards accurate controlled fire more than spraying entire magazines.

Use semi-auto or short bursts at longer ranges and avoid exposing your whole character when firing from cover.

Begin With Openworld PvE

Explore Ronograd Island and engage enemy forces at manageable locations before attempting the most heavily defended compounds. PvE helps you learn enemy behavior, positioning, healing, and ammunition management while earning progression rewards.

Clear enemies from outside a location when possible instead of immediately entering buildings or courtyards.

Use Vehicles for Long-Distance Travel

Vehicles make travel across Ronograd Island much faster and let you move between the FOB, settlements, mission areas, and enemy locations efficiently. Park outside active combat areas so your vehicle remains available for extraction.

Do not drive directly into a defended compound unless you already know the enemy positions.

Upgrade Weapons With a Purpose

Spend money on attachments and weapons that improve your preferred role instead of buying everything immediately. Optics help target identification, grips can improve handling, and suppressors are useful when you want a quieter approach.

Build one dependable general-purpose rifle before spending heavily on specialized weapons.

Progress Into Harder Locations and PvP

After learning PvE combat, navigation, and equipment management, move toward more heavily defended enemy positions or BRM5 team-based PvP modes. PvP requires faster reactions and stronger awareness because enemy players use cover, flanks, and customized weapons effectively.

Treat PvP as a separate skill set and adjust your loadout for faster engagements and player movement.

Prepare a Dependable Weapon

Bring a weapon you can control during repeated close- and medium-range engagements. High ammunition capacity and fast follow-up shots are especially useful when several zombies approach at once.

Stay With the Team

Move as a group whenever possible. A separated player can be surrounded quickly, while teammates can cover different directions and help protect the person handling the rescue objective.

Keep an Escape Route Open

Do not fight with your back trapped against a wall, dead end, or cluttered interior. Use streets, open areas, and routes that allow the squad to retreat while continuing to fire.

Control Groups Before Advancing

Clear nearby threats before pushing deeper into an area or interacting with a survivor. Starting a rescue while enemies are already closing in makes the objective much harder to protect.

Rescue Survivors Safely

Once a survivor is located, keep the team around the rescue route and eliminate approaching zombies before continuing. The squad should move at a pace that keeps the survivor and slower teammates protected.

Reload Before the Next Push

Use quiet moments to reload, check ammunition, and regroup. Entering the next encounter with a partially empty magazine can turn a manageable group into an emergency.

Use Choke Points Carefully

Doorways and narrow routes can concentrate zombies into a predictable direction, but they can also trap players if the rear is not protected. Assign teammates to watch additional approaches.

Finish the Run as a Group

After completing rescue objectives, keep the same formation and avoid unnecessary detours. Surviving players and completed objectives are more valuable than taking extra fights at the end of a run.
